LCC Members now able to support their home congregations via online donations

CANADA – Lutheran Church–Canada has enhanced its website to include the option of giving directly to your home congregation, in an effort to assist congregations suffering financial hardships due to COVID-19. This update was announced in a letter to congregations sent out on March 27, 2020.

The letter explains that, an increasing number of jurisdictions have issued shelter-in-place orders, discouraging even those who may want to visit the church to drop off their offerings. Even placing post-dated cheques in the mail may prove somewhat difficult if they cannot be picked up at the church. Further, many individuals are facing financial hardships at this time and may not be able to give what they normally would, in support of their home congregation. This presents a uniquely challenging situation for congregations in their ability to support their pastors and ongoing Word and Sacrament ministry.

This option for online giving in support of members’ distinctive congregations is available through LCC’s homepage under “Support My Home Congregation” and can also be reached directly Here.
