Commission on Nominations and Elections (CNE) Membership Change

CANADA – With grateful appreciation for their service, the Commission on Nominations and Elections (CNE) of Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC) has accepted the resignation of Rev. Robert Morley (Secretary) and Rev. Lorne Reddemann (Chair) from the commission.

Current CNE members, Rod Johnson and Rev. Keith Hoveland, have been appointed by the commission as chair and secretary respectively for the remainder of the term. Other members of the CNE are: Rev. Michael Meleg, Milton Joneson, and Sharon Schieman. 

The Commission on Nominations and Elections (CNE) is responsible for conducting the election of the Synod President and Vice President. In addition, the CNE solicits names and vets these potential nominees, ensuring that they have the necessary qualifications and meet requirements of the various boards and commissions, including for: the Board of Directors (BOD), the Commission on Nominations and Elections (CNE), the Commissions on Adjudication (COA), the Commission on Constitutional Matters and Structure (CCMS), the Commission on Theology and Church Relations (CTCR), the Regional Pastor for each region (West, Central, and East), the Circuit Counsellors for each Circuit within the Regions, and the Region Mission and Ministries Councils (RMMC). The CNE also conducts the elections for the same boards and commissions.
