Magazine adds online version

In its continuing strategy of online engagement, Lutheran Church–Canada has launched a web version of its award-winning magazine The Canadian Lutheran. The site, www.canadianlutheran.ca  is now the main news source for the church body, replacing www.lccinfodigest.ca.

LCC’s Director of Communications Ian Adnams noted that the online magazine will report news from across Canada and the world, post features and columns from the print magazine plus provide additional material “we couldn’t afford to place in the printed version because it would increase printing costs.”

Rather than compiling news stories for a print magazine six times per year, the online magazine’s goal is to post stories immediately after an event. “We hope our congregations, schools and affiliated organizations will provide a constant supply of news stories, photos and even short videos we can include,” Dr. Adnams explained.

He also assures readers of the printed version of The Canadian Lutheran that it will continue publishing. “Our move online is a complement to the hard copy,” he said. “We value greatly our loyal magazine readership. Being online is an opportunity to share the magazine with even more people.” A PDF version of the magazine and various sections will still be online at www.lutheranchurchcanada.ca/canluth.

The online magazine also has a ‘fan’ page on Facebook: Canadian Lutheran.ca  It will contain links to all posts on the website.
