LCC Seminaries to hold convocation, call service

CANADA – Lutheran Church–Canada’s two seminaries will hold their convocation and call services this Friday and Saturday.

Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS – Edmonton) will hold its Sacred Convocation on Friday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Stony Plain, Alberta. CLS’ convocation will be in-person only but video will be posted online at a later date. The seminary is celebrating the graduation and first call of one pastoral student, as well as one colloquy graduate. One student will also receive his vicarage placement, and one diaconal student will receive her internship placement.

Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (St. Catharines, Ontario – CLTS) will hold its Call Service on Saturday, May 25 at 3:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Catharines. The service will also be live-streamed online at the seminary’s YouTube channel. CLTS has one student being certified for the holy ministry and receiving his first call during the service. Three additional students will receive their vicarage placements.

The services will also see both seminaries present honorary awards to members of the wider church.
