Advent devotions bring northern light to the season

For the past 40 years Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots (LAMP) has focused on the spiritual and physical needs of men, women and children living in the remote northern areas of North America. With this unique perspective this year’s Advent devotions from the organization are a historical representation of insights experienced by LAMP staff and volunteers over the years. The devotions tell stories of life in the far north and help prepare readers to celebrate God’s gift of His Son, Jesus.

Introduced 30 years ago, LAMP’s Advent devotions have proven a favourite with friends and supporters of the ministry since the 1980s when they were first published.

This year, to commemorate the organization’s 40th Anniversary, the booklet includes a short history. Entitled, “His Story of LAMP,” the history clearly recounts God’s faithfulness in guiding those involved in the ministry throughout the past 40 years.

The devotions are available for downloading at www.lampministry.org/Devotions or you can receive them by e-mail every day beginning November 28. Add your name to the e-mail list by sending your address to lamp@lampministry.org.

LAMP is a Listed Service Organization of Lutheran Church–Canada.
