ABC District Convention Update

President Schiemann

Rev. Donald Schiemann was elected to another term as district president of the Alberta-British Columbia District of Lutheran Church-Canada May 19, 2012. President Schiemann was elected on the first ballot.

Rev. Mark Ruf was elected as First Vice-President, Rev. David Dressler as Second Vice-President, and Rev. Craig Tufts as Third Vice-President during votes held May 19-20.

Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, President of Lutheran Church-Canada, presented the first part of his lecture “Confession and Mission in the 21^st Century” May 19. In addition to serving as convention essayist, President Bugbee preached the sermon at the opening worship service the evening of May 18. He preached – as he has preached at all three district conventions – on Matthew 24:12. “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of many will grow cold.” The sermon will eventually be posted online.
