Anniversary weekend welcomes special guests

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A weekend of celebrations marked the 50th anniversary of Redeemer Lutheran, May 15 and 16.
Festivities began with a come-and-go reception Saturday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. After the regular Sunday-morning service, 75 people filled the church for the afternoon’s Service of Celebration. With LCC President Robert Bugbee serving as guest preacher, Central District president Tom Prachar attended along with a number of pastors from the Northland Circuit. Dinner and fellowship followed.
Several of Redeemer’s former pastors joined in all or part of the weekend celebrations: Rev. Ron and Mary Wesley of Edmonton; Rev. Ken and Trish Maher and family of Collingwood, Ont.; and Barb Dick (widow of Rev. Alan Dick) of Moose Jaw, Sask. Rev. Gary Watts of Calgary, who served as a vacancy pastor in the 1970s, also attended.
Verna Schneider chaired the Anniversary Committee.
