Concordia Lutheran Mission Society seeks nominations

CANADA – Concordia Lutheran Mission Society (CLMS) is currently seeking nominations to fill two vacancies on its board.

“Who do you know with a heart for missions?” the call for nominations reads. “A wonderful opportunity is available to help share the Good News around the globe by serving on the board of CLMS.” CLMS is an Auxiliary of Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC). The organization is run completely by volunteers, and supports mission projects in Asia, Central America, Ukraine, and Canada.

Jesus once said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. So, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest” (Luke 10:2). If you know a fellow of member of LCC who has a heart for missions, CLMS encourages you to nominate them to work on the board.

“You don’t have to ask your nominees for their consent to serve nor whether they are currently members of CLMS,” the call for nominations explains, “but you should recognize them as being mission-minded and having the ability to serve.” The Nominating Committee will make personal contact with each nominee to determine their gifts and willingness to serve. It is also appropriate to nominate yourself or someone who has been previously nominated.

Nominations should be sent to CLMS Vice President Jon Oberholzer at joberhol@sentex.net by October 4, 2013. With your submission please include the nominee’s name, address, phone number, and—if available—email address, along with a brief overview of why the nominee would be a strong addition to CLMS’ board.
