Haiti earthquake relief donation matching

The Government of Canada: The federal government will match dollar-for-dollar contributions made by individual Canadians to registered charities supporting humanitarian, recovery and reconstruction efforts in Haiti. Initially, the government capped the pledge at $50 million. It has lifted the cap.

Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) is a registered charity and qualifies for matching donations. Visit www.clwr.org/donate, or www.lutheranchurchcanada.ca/donate, call 204-694-5602, or 800-661-2597 to contribute by phone. To donate by mail write CLWR national office 302-393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 3H6. Ensure cheques include “Haiti earthquake appeal.”

Haiti Lutheran Mission Society (HLMS) is a registered charity and qualifies for matching donations. Call 905-688-6211, 905-688-1226 or send a cheque to 400 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines On, L2T 3L2. The HLMS is a listed service organization of Lutheran Church–Canada.

FaithLife Financial:FaithLife Financial: is a not-for-profit, member-based, financial-services organization focused on helping Christians build a better world. It is matching donations through its Chapter Disaster Matching Grants and expects to provide over $50,000 in addition to the funds raised by the Chapters. While the last day for pre-approval is Wednesday, January 27, Chapters can still use their regular Matching Grants in support of Haiti.
