LCC seminaries announce dates for opening service livestreams

ONLINE – Lutheran Church–Canada (LCC)’s two seminaries have announced dates for their opening services as they enter into a new school year. These services will be livestreamed on the seminaries’ distinctive YouTube Channels.

The opening service for Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS) in Edmonton will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. MDT and can be viewed on their YouTube Channel Here. The faculty at CLS shared in a Facebook post: “Please continue to keep the ministry of Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton, in your thoughts and prayers. We rejoice that God is sending us new students, blessing the vicars, and empowering the recently graduated pastors in their ministries.”

The opening service for Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (CLTS) in St. Catharines will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. EDT. In order to increase seating capacity under current restrictions, the service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Catharines. Seating will still be limited, and so CLTS is asking that only close family members of the students and honourees attend in person. The service will be live-streamed from CLTS’ YouTube Channel Here.
