Rev. Fritsche accepted the call to Zion after a brief time as the church’s vacancy pastor. He and wife Nancy moved to Edmonton in 2009 after serving Beautiful Savior in Winnipeg for 26 years. He’s also served in Bruderheim, Alberta for four years and in Luseland, Saskatchewan for five. Rev. Fritsche has held a number of positions in district and synod: most notably, nine years as a vice-president of Lutheran Church–Canada, as well as spots in the district departments of worship, youth, education, student aid and recruitment.
Zion members served a meal after the service for the more than 120 people who attended.
