Pray for LCC Missions with 2014 Advent Calendar

ONLINE – As Canadians prepare to enter the season of Advent, Lutheran Church–Canada’s (LCC) Missions and Social Ministry Services is making available a prayer-calendar for the month of December.

“As we reflect on the first coming of Christ and prepare for His second, we ask God to bless and guide the ministry of Lutheran Church–Canada and our partners,” said Rev. Dr. Leonardo Neitzel, LCC’s Executive for Missions and Social Ministry Services. “This is a perfect time for LCC members to remember our mission work across the world, and the work of our auxiliaries and listed service organizations.”

The calendar runs December 1-31, with each day featuring a different prayer request ranging from local Canadian ministry to Gospel-outreach in places like Thailand and Cambodia. “As we prepare to celebrate the advent of Christ, we remember that many people—both here and abroad—have yet to hear that the Saviour has come,” Dr. Neitzel continued. “We pray that God would bless the proclamation of the Gospel around the world, that the nations would hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. And we invite LCC members to join us in that prayer, through the use of this prayer calendar.”
