Seminaries request nominations

The seminaries of Lutheran Church–Canada present special honours at their spring convocations and graduation ceremonies. Both institutions are seeking nominations from the church-at-large.

Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Catharines

At its annual Certification and Call Service, Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary awards the Delta Chi Medal, its highest and most distinguished award. The medal is presented to an individual, either clergy or lay, whose life exemplifies service to Christ in his/her everyday living and vocation.

The seminary is now seeking nominations for the 2011 recipient. Any member of an LCC or LCMS congregation can place a name in nomination. The faculty Honours Committee gives consideration to an individual’s service to the local congregation, the community, the synodical district, the church-at-large, church service organizations, educational institutions, and similar activities in making its recommendation. The committee then forwards its nominees to the Board of Regents.

If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please contact the seminary at concordia@brocku.ca  or call 905-688-2362 for more information. Deadline for nominations is December 31.

 Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton
