Seminaries Sunday 2015

CANADA – While Lutheran Church–Canada no longer designates a specific day as “Seminaries Sunday,” it nevertheless encourages its congregations to remember the two seminaries with prayers and offerings. Many congregations choose to observe it in conjunction with an Education Sunday in September, remembering the opening of the seminaries’ academic year.

The seminaries encourage you to use the propers appointed for the day, but you may also choose to make use of the seminaries’ joint theme verse for the year: “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:29).

Liturgical resources and a bulletin cover/insert are available for download here. Congregations may also encourage offerings towards the seminaries’ operating budgets through your congregational offerings, or request special envelopes by contacting the seminaries directly.
