Seminary grads receive first calls
Concordia Lutheran Seminary (CLS – Edmonton, Alberta) and Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary (CLTS – St. Catharines, Ontario) held their sacred convocation services May 25 and 26 respectively, during which candidates and vicars learned where they would be serving.
Candidates graduating and receiving their first calls include (in alphabetical order): Rev. Steve Bartlett (CLS) to Good Shepherd Lutheran and Zion Lutheran in Hudson Bay/Mistatim, Saskatchewan; Rev. Daniel Bonato (CLTS), placement pending; Rev. Darren Dressler (CLS) to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran in Airdrie, Alberta; Rev. Domenick Lettieri (CLTS) to Redeemer Lutheran in Colden, New York; Rev. Michael Montague (CLS) to Christ Lutheran in Red Lake, Ontario; Rev. Gregory Palmer (CLTS) to Faith Lutheran and St. Paul Lutheran in Vermilion/Mannville, Alberta; Rev. Rod Parker (CLS) to Grace Lutheran in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Rev. Timothy Schneider (CLS) to Trinity Lutheran in Golden, B.C.
Students beginning vicarage have been placed as follows (in alphabetical order): Perry Hart (CLTS) to Waikerie Lutheran Parish, South Australia; Tyson Mastin (CLTS) to Christ the King Lutheran in 100 Mile House, B.C.; Johannes Nieminen (CLTS) to St Paul’s Lutheran in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Andrew Preus (CLTS) to Redeemer Lutheran in Waterloo, Ontario (CLTS); Paul Preus (CLTS) to Zion Lutheran in Yorkton, Saskatchewan; Jeremy Richert (CLTS) to Trinity Lutheran in Winkler, Manitoba; and Roland Starke (CLS) to Trinity Lutheran in Abbotsford, B.C.
In addition, Concordia University College of Alberta has one Direction of Parish Services student beginning an internship this year. Alyx Quinlan will be serving in New Beginnings Lutheran in Regina, Saskatchewan.
